From first meeting to final polish, the Precision process involves four key stages:

The Precision team will meet with you to discuss your creative ideas and functional requirements. We will look at your site and take precise measurements. Together we will check out various designs, looking through magazines or samples of our past work, until we find the perfect one for you.

Precision craftsmen will then lay out a full-scale framework of your project, literally drawing out the "blueprint" on the floor and walls of your site. This enables us to identify any potential problems early. We will analyze and redraft until we get it exactly right… until we have a full-scale template to work from.

Framing is necessary for circular staircases only, but it is a crucial stage in creating that type of project. Ideally, the Precision team would put in the frame, but where this is not possible, we will work in tandem with your construction team to ensure the complex angles and measurements are exact.

When the components of your staircase are different colors, we finish the individual parts in shop and install them separately. The stringers (or inclined "sides" of the staircase) are first. Treads and risers are milled, shop finished where possible, and installed. Finally, the railing (posts, balusters and rails - pre-fitted and shop finished) are installed.
